Crystal est diplômée du Royal Conservatoire of Scotland en 2014. Ses crédits au RCS incluent The Beaux Strategem, Macbeth, The Cherry Orchard et They Shoot Horses, Don't They? Crystal a grandi dans une famille d'immigrants antillais du comté d'Essex, dans le New Jersey. Elle est diplômée du Newark Arts High School.
